Stem Cell

Human blood accounts for about one-thirteenth of body weight (about five liters of blood in a 65-kilogram person), and the average body blood passes through the heart once in 40 seconds. The life span of red blood cells is about 120 days, and the white blood cells vary from several hours to several years. They enter the blood circulation from the bone as it matures, metabolize and continue to flow until the body organs stop functioning.

Blood consists of red blood cells, white blood cells, platelets and other proteins and electrolytes. Based on different blood cells, responsible for a variety of different functions, in addition to carrying oxygen, nutrients and metabolizing carbon dioxide and waste circulation function, blood is also responsible for the body's immune and endocrine functions. From the viewpoint of traditional Chinese medicine, this paper analyzes the whole view of blood. It holds that blood provides nutrient red liquid for the body, which is responsible for nourishing the whole body, circulating in the blood circulation, viscera, skin, flesh, muscle and bone. It plays a nourishing and moistening role in these viscera tissues, and maintains healthy activity and sensory function. Blood supply is very important to mental health. If blood circulation is smooth and nutrients are sufficient, it will show energy and clarity of mind. Conversely, it can cause forgetfulness, insomnia and other problems, which are serious to mental disorders and mental disorders.

Stem cells are embryonic progenitor cells with the earliest individual development. They are primitive and have the potential to regenerate various tissues and organs. They can self-renew and exist in tissue cells. It acts as a supplier of tissue repair and raw cells, maintaining cell metabolism and performing damaged repair mechanisms. Stem cell research has made regenerative medicine and personalized medical treatment no longer a distant dream, and has pushed the history of human medical treatment into a new milestone.
Stem cells are divided into two main categories: embryonic stem cells and adult stem cells. Adult stem cells are divided into two systems: hematopoietic stem cells and mesenchymal stem cells. They are responsible for the regeneration of blood cells and tissue repair, existing between the various tissues, to maintain the physiological balance in the body, to resist the occurrence of disease. Adult stem cells can be obtained mainly from bone marrow, umbilical cord blood, peripheral blood and fat, and have considerable potential in medical applications.

After the concept of retrogressive induction was accepted by the academic community, more methods of induction and the sources of inducible cells were gradually discovered or seen again. For example, the STAP, published in the Journal NATURE in 2014, was called an epoch-making discovery, although the authenticity of the current study is still being challenged. In 2003, a research team from Keio University in Japan discovered that adult mononuclear leukocytes possessed mesenchymal stem cell potential after microenvironment culture. More and more simple and safer induction methods have been found and created. From in vitro culture to in vivo induction, human medicine will enter a more accurate and complete diagnosis and treatment era.

STAP / Stimulus-triggered fate conversion of somatic cells into pluripotency
Adult cells, such as stem cells, generally have the ability to differentiate into a variety of cell-like cells, reverting to the pre-differentiation totipotent state by weak acidic stimulation.

 MOMP / Monocyte-Derived Mesenchymal Progenitor
Mononuclear leukocytes were transformed into precursor cells with mesenchymal stem cells by environmental induction.→http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12960274

AMPC /  Autologous Multilineage Potential Cells
Mononuclear leukocytes were induced by stimulation of natural microenvironment to turn into stem-like cells with multipotent differentiation potential.

Current situation of application:
At present, there are many countries in the world that have access to stem cell therapy. Embryonic stem cells in Ukraine, for example, have the largest database of stem cell cases, although they are highly morally controversial. South Korea, Canada and Australia have also opened many stem cell products. Malaysia is more open to the use of autologous stem cells (currently restricted to allogeneic stem cells). In addition to disease-related research, stem cells and rejuvenation and health industries are widely used. In addition, studies have found that traditional Chinese regimens such as Tai Chi and Qigong have also been shown to increase the number of stem cells in the body, as well as a variety of healthy foods, physical therapy and other related findings.
